STEPHEN LEICHT DARLINGTON NOTES- Stephen Leicht will be back behind the wheel of the CitiFinancial Ford this weekend as the NASCAR Busch Series makes their annual stop at Darlington Raceway. This will be Leicht's first start at the 1.366 egg-shaped oval and his sixth career Busch Series start.
LEICHT'S THOUGHTS ON DARLINGTON- "I've never been to Darlington, so this weekend is going to be a learning experience for me. I know you have to conserve your tires and be extremely patient if you want to finish the race. Race the racetrack is the approach I'm taking this weekend.The practice sessions are going to be extremely important in helping me get the CitiFinancial Ford dialed in for the race.Darlington is a place where I'm glad the rookies get an extra practice session to prepare for the race."
LAST WEEKEND- Elliott Sadler, driver of the No. 90 CitiFinancial Ford struggled with an ill-handling car for the majority of Friday night's Circuit City 250 at Richmond International Raceway, which resulted in an 18th-place finish.
CHASSIS INFORMATION-The CitiFinancial team is taking chassis No.B8 to Darlington. This is the same car that Matt McCall raced at Bristol in March (started 21st and finished 24th).
CONGRATULATIONS- Car Chief, Bruce Cook's wife Sheri gave birth to daughter Kayla Cook on Friday, May 5 at 1 p.m.. Kayla weighed 7 lbs and 4 ounces.
TESTING 1-2-3- Leicht and McCall will take advantage of the Lowe's Motor Speedway open NASCAR Busch Series test on Tuesday and Wednesday.
MATT MCCALL- McCall will be making his second ARCA RE/MAX Series start in Kentucky on Saturday, May 13th for the running of the Harley-Davidson of Cincinnati 150. McCall, driver of the No. 55 CitiFinancial Ford,finished second in his ARCA debutat Daytona earlier this year. The team will race chassis No.36 in Kentucky.
