KEN SCHRADER DARLINGTON RACEWAY NASCAR BUSCH SERIES

Ken Schrader has eight starts at Darlington Raceway in the NASCAR Busch Series. He has one pole, one top-5 and three top-10 finishes.

"Of all the tracks I compete at, Darlington is one of my favorites," said Ken Schrader, driver of the No. 15 Oakwood Homes Chevrolet. "I've had good runs there and it is a track filled with so much history and tradition. It is a tough race for the driver, but provides an awesome show for the fans."

Schrader claimed his first NASCAR Winston Cup pole (1987) and first NASCAR Busch Series pole (1989) at Darlington Raceway. He also had Winston Cup poles there in 1988 and 1993.

"It was a pretty big day for me when I won my first Winston Cup pole in 1987," said Schrader. "I was one of the last to go out and Earnhardt was in the top spot. Everyone pretty much assumed he had it all wrapped up, except for him. He said he was worried about that No. 90 car because it had run fast in practice, but no one had really paid attention. We pulled it off and finished the race fifth."

The NASCAR Busch Series car Andy Petree Racing is taking to Darlington Raceway is the same car they competed with at Michigan a few weeks ago.

"We tested the car at Darlington on Thursday, August 27, and ran very well," said Jeff Swann, crew chief of the No. 15 Oakwood Homes Chevrolet. "We're real happy we tested because we know we are in good shape for the race."
