"I thought the lap went well. We were little bit off what we ran his morning, but I think that's fairly normal. We almost ran the same speed, and usually the track falls off some. I felt good about the lap. We worked on race trim all morning g and made just a shot at it in qualifying at the last minute. I feel pretty good about being able to work on race stuff and then throw a qualifying setup in it at the end.
"It worked real well. I'm real proud of my team. I have a real aggressive Busch program this year with intentions of really changing the way we were doing things, and so far, it's worked really well. I'm real proud that we've been able to get together as a company and decide what it is we need to do better and apply it and then have it work."
SCOTT RIGGS-10-Nestle Nesquik Ford Taurus (Qualified 4th)
YOU HAD A LATE DRAW FOR QUALIFYING. DID YOU THINK YOU HAD A SHOT AT THE POLE BASED OFF OF WHAT YOU SAW? "I thought we did. I'm pretty lucky to have a teammate like Jason here. He really gave me a lot of pointers after practice. He pointed out some different things that could have helped us and I tried to listen to exactly what he said and do exactly what he said, and I think it showed up on the race track. It put us right there together. I thought that with the cloud cover that we had a chance there at the end, but we're pretty happy. We picked up from where we practiced. We can see the front row. We're not on the front row, but we can see it. Like I said before, we didn't come here to qualify, we came here to race. It's a pretty good starting spot for us."
JASON KELLER-57-Albertsons Ford Taurus (Qualified 3rd)
"It was a really good lap, but it wasn't what we hoped for. We were real fast in practice and we came here and tested before Daytona, early in the year, and ran a lot of qualifying runs and got our car really balanced. It was a good, solid lap. Anytime you can qualify in the top three, top five here, it's good. We just didn't get that perfect lap to get on the pole. I can't complain. We had a shot at it, we just didn't get it."
IS THIS YOUR ROCKINGHAM CAR? "It sure is. This is actually the car we came here and tested over the winter and we took it to Rockingham because it felt so good in race mode. It did great things at Rockingham and it's quickly becoming my favorite car. It responded great in practice all day. We didn't get it in race trim. We did a lot of race trim stuff when we were here in the off-season and Scott did a lot of race trim stuff this morning. We sort of gave him the qualifying setup that we ran, and he put that in there and tweaked it a little bit. And, we're going to do the same thing with what he did and we're going to do that in Happy Hour."
HOW HAS THE TEMPERATURE AFFECTED THE TRACK? "Well, we don't know yet. Hopefully, we'll get a little it of time on the race track this afternoon and see. We do have some things in our minds that we may want to do shock-wise to sort of combat the heat that sort of works at other places. We feel really, really good about our baseline. It's a lot like what we ran at Rockingham, so we don't want to get away from it. We know what it will do on long runs. If you think about it, Rockingham was real cloudy, too, so we had to be smart to put enough adjustability in the car. This place is very important to me. Being from South Carolina, we put a lot of emphasis on this race and hopefully we can do well tomorrow."
