MCGILL MOTORSPORTS TEAM LOOKING TO IMPROVE FOR SECOND HALF OF SEASON

Tim Sauter Heads to Windy City

The Durock 300 at the Chicagoland Speedway marks the midway point of the NASCAR Busch Series season. For McGill Motorsports driver Tim Sauter, starting the second half of the season on a positive note is important to the whole organization. The Lester Buildings team has had more than it's fair share of bad luck and mid-pack finishes through the first seventeen races. Sauter, who currently sits 24th in NBS driver points, feels the time is right to get things headed in the right direction.

Sauter reflected on the first half of the season, "The season started out with a top-20 at Daytona, and we made it through the western swing until the big wreck at Las Vegas. We struggled to find speed at Atlanta and Texas and then got caught up in another wreck again at Nashville. That really put the guys in the shop behind because we had tore-up our two best downforce cars. We came back after that one and ran pretty good at Phoenix and Talladega before wrecking at Richmond and Darlington. After Darlington, we started to get a little better handle on the tire and the guys got a few cars rebuilt."

"For the most part, the Lester Buildings car has run pretty good since Charlotte, but we have not taken advantage and turned good runs into top-20 finishes. We've had cars capable of running into the top-15 the last five races, but for one reason or another have not capitalized and given John and Nancy McGill the finishes we should have," Tim continued. "I think we just need to keep working together as a team, we can't let up and we have to create our own positive fortunes here in the second half of the season."

"I think that this team can be pretty good at the next few races after Chicago. New Hampshire, Martinsville, Gateway and IRP are all good racetracks for me as a driver. The next month will be our chance to prove what we can do."

The green flag will drop at 3:00 ET for the USG Durock 300 on July 8th and will be televised live on TNT.

* This will be Tim's 102nd start in the NBS and 107th career NASCAR start.

* All three Sauter brothers will attempt to make the Durock 300.

* Tim currently sits 24th in the NBS driver point standings.

* This will be the second time Tim has competed at Chicagoland in the NBS, best finish: July 2002 -- Tropicana Twister 300 - Finished 34th, started 22nd. (Engine failure)

Tim's thoughts on Chicagoland Speedway: "I think we are going to have a pretty good car this weekend, the same car as we ran at Nashville and Kentucky. We could race with those guys at both tracks, but we need to stay on the lead lap and we can bring home a good finish."

* This will be the second time McGill Motorsports has competed at Chicagoland Speedway in the NBS, best finish: July 2004 -- Twister 300 - Driver; Travis Geisler - Finished 23rd, started 32nd.
