Jason Keller to pull double duty at Chicagoland

Jason Keller has a very busy weekend ahead of him at Chicagoland Speedway. Not only will Keller be piloting the No. 57 Albertsons/Jewel-Osco/Got Milk? Ford in Saturday's NASCAR Busch Series event, but he will attempt to drive the No. 81 Dale Earnhardt Inc. car in the Winston Cup race on Sunday.

Keller and the Albertsons team gained another 16 points in the championship standings last weekend in Daytona. Keller is just 84 points behind points leader and teammate Scott Riggs. Just four weeks ago after Dover, Keller was 188 points back in the standings.

Keller will be driving the Jewel-Osco/Got Milk? Ford this weekend in Chicago. Jewel-Osco is the Midwest division of Albertsons and the No. 1 grocery store in the Chicago area.

In the two NASCAR Busch Series races at Chicagoland, Keller has one top-five and two-top 10 finishes.

On his weekend in Chicago-- Chicagoland Speedway is a smooth, narrow track where track position is key. Keller and the Albertsons team know there way around the track and have top-10 finishes in both Busch races Chicagoland. Keller also tested his Winston Cup car for DEI at the track and believes the extra seat time with be advantageous for everyone.

"I'm really excited about this weekend," said Keller. "I've been planning this weekend for so long I can't believe it's finally here. I think it is going to be a great weekend for both teams. I am especially looking forward to continuing the momentum with the Albertsons team. We have been consistent over the past few races and have seen success at Chicago in the past. That combination only boosts my confidence heading into such an important weekend.

"I was able to test with the Winston Cup car and should be able to use some of that information for my Busch car. I've always believed that the Winston Cup drivers have an advantage by running Saturday morning before the Busch race, now I will get to experience it first hand."

On the championship--

"We struggled through the first half of the season by our standards," said Keller. "Now we have to buckle down and really focus on consistency through the second half of the season. There are teams that have had a tough season and are already out of contention for the championship. We're fortunate that we've set our standards so high that our bad season only has us 84 points out of the lead. The five drivers that are in contention for this championship are all consistent drivers and teams. We are not going to be able to gain 100 points in one race, but we will have to pick up 10 points here or 20 points there. The only way we can guarantee that is if we continue to finish up front in the Albertsons Ford week after week."

Where to meet Jason Keller--

Wednesday, July 9 at the Jewel-Osco in New Lennox from 2-4 pm.

Thursday, July 10 at the Jewel-Osco in Frankfort from 11 am-1 pm.

Thursday, July 10 at the Jewel-Osco in Bolingbrook from 4-6 pm
