BUSCH: Charlotte Team Amick Preview

#35 SCANA/POWERTEL RACE TEAM ELLIOTT SADLER Notes and Quotes Race 28 of 32- NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division Lowe's Motor Speedway, Charlotte, NC-1.5-mile oval September 9, 1999-Race time-Saturday, 1:05 p.m. ET, broadcast on TBS and PRN

· Elliott Sadler returns to drive the No. 35 SCANA/Powertel Chevrolet after a one-race absence. A crash in the last fifteen minutes of happy hour practice on Sept. 24th at Dover Downs International Speedway sent Sadler to the infield care center with minor injuries, where he was treated and released. Due to severe soreness in his neck and shoulders, the decision was made that Sadler would sit out of the MBNA Gold 200 on Sept. 25th.

· Team Amick didn't have time to get their backup car ready by the time happy hour ended on Friday. Without the benefit of a single practice lap, Lyndon Amick, who had driven the No. 35 in 15 races this year prior to Dover, climbed into the team's backup car and finished 27th after starting last in Saturday's race.

· Team Amick has a brand-new car that they will attempt to qualify for Saturday's event. The team took a short trip to Atlanta Motor Speedway on Monday evening to break the racecar in and see how it would perform on a 1.5-mile track with similar banking (24 degrees).

· Plans call for Sadler to drive the No. 35 in all the remaining races on the Busch Series schedule in 1999. Amick will drive in selected events in a second team car, the No. 88 Rev It Up!/SCANA Chevrolet.

Elliott Sadler, Driver: On Lowe's Motor Speedway: "One of the hardest things about racing at Charlotte is just getting in the show. There's so many great drivers that want to run in the Busch race at this track, it means a lot of cars will end up going home. I always look forward to getting a chance to race here. We qualified in the top-10 here a couple of times in 1997 and 1998, and I was having a great run here in the spring race (substituting for Andy Santerre in the No. 47 entry) until I brushed the wall."
