ANDRETTI GETS "HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE" AT LOWE'S MOTOR SPEEDWAY
* Just a few miles from his residence in Mooresville, NC, Andretti will be racing on NASCAR's home track Saturday night. Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, NC is just a few miles from ppc Racings' shop where all the #10 cars are built. The chance to stay at home and not pack this weekend is a welcome change for Andretti and the members of the #10 FreedomRoads team!
*Andretti will carry local FreedomRoads dealer, Holiday Kamper located in Statesville, NC, on the rear quarter panel of the #10 Saturday night.
* The FreedomRoads team is taking chassis #44 to Lowe's. It's the same car the team raced in California and Nashville earlier this year where Andretti finished 19th and 28th respectively.
* Andretti is currently second in the Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year point standings, 18 points behind leader, Burney Lamar.
* No stranger to Lowe's Motor Speedway, Andretti has 22 Nextel Cup starts on his "home track." Andretti finished in the top-10 once and completed 94.3% of all the laps possible, leading 30 laps. Andretti's average start on the Charlotte 1.5-mile quad-oval is 22.0 and his average finish is 24.0.
ANDRETTI AT LOWE'S MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Saturday night's running of the Carquest Auto Parts 300 will be Andretti's first start at Lowe's Motor Speedway in the Busch Series, but he has 22 Nextel Cup starts on the North Carolina 1.5-mile quad-oval.
JOHN ANDRETTI ON THE CARQUEST AUTO PARTS 300 AND LOWE'S
"Having just been repaved, Charlotte will be a different track this time. You hold it wide open for sure for qualifying and then in the race, who knows. We got to test out there so we have a better idea of what it will be like. It's not going to be the old Lowe's at least not until it gets some weather on it, but it will be fast and it will be smooth. Anytime they repave a track you always look for a lot of excitement. Everybody always looks forward to the Charlotte race but I think there will also be a little apprehension too because it's a different kind of Charlotte now!"
