KEVIN HARVICK , NO. 33 DOLLAR GENERAL MONTE CARLO SS AND 2006 NASCAR BUSCH SERIES CHAMPION:
"It has been an incredible year. Man, what a crazy night. It was just a crazy, crazy, crazy night. This Dollar General Chevrolet was really fast. Got a flat tire there and just kind of fell apart there on a couple of pit stops. The car was fast enough for us to be able to get back to where we needed to be. On a night like this, when you can come back and finish ninth just tells you what kind of a year it has been for us. Congratulations to Dave Blaney, that is really neat for him.
"Yeah, this is really awesome. I was a little bit disappointed, obviously. You can't control flat tires but I like to control the things that we can control on pit road and we had...we weren't very good in the pits tonight. The guys did a great job preparing this thing. The Dollar General Chevrolet was fast and able to get a lap back and made adjustments on it all night to make it better.
"There is still some races to go before we know the final margin but our goal all year has been to put ourselves in the top-10 and put ourselves in position to run good to have a chance to win. We have been able to accomplish that several times this year. When we had a 12th place car we would finish sixth or seventh and when we would have a fifth place car, we won a couple. It has just been an incredible year in the U.S. Coast Guard Chevrolet. We have run this Dollar General Chevrolet a couple of times along with the Outdoor Channel Chevrolet and the Hershey's Kissables car at Daytona.
"To win this championship with all the different teams and crew chiefs and different things we did this year, is pretty special. The backbone of the whole deal was the No. 21 Coast Guard Chevrolet, Richard Childress Racing (RCR) and all those guys, Shane Wilson, Todd Berrier, Richard Childress... just an incredible year and I don't really what to say. This was a five-minute conversation between Richard and I, we said, what the heck, we'll make a run for the championship and see what happens when we get to the first Charlotte and go from there. I am just proud of everybody involved. It's been quite the year in the Busch car.
"I am sure this will take some focus off our Cup program, but we have really approached the races week in and week out the same way we have raced every week, which is to try to put yourself in position to win. It has been one of those years for us and it has been a lot of fun for us. It is a lot of fun and hopefully we cam close it out in the Cup car.
