WHAT HAPPENED? "I don't know. I thought maybe you could tell me. I'm pretty sure we just lost a right-front tire there. We were tight. It drove really tight there as the run went on. Maybe we had a tire going down or something, I'm not too sure. But we were battling out there. There was just no warning. The right-front went down and we just hit the wall. It actually wasn't that big a hit, it's just broken the brake system stuff, so we've got go back and put a new brake disc on and bleed it all up again, so we're gonna lose a good 20-30 laps here."
JAMIE MCMURRAY -- No. 26 Dish Network Ford Fusion (Finished 38th)
"I got a big run on those guys and I think there was a couple of lapped cars, and the 5 was trying to get by them. They slowed down and when I slowed down, there was a car on my outside and I just spun out. It was pretty much all my fault. There wasn't a whole lot I could do."
GREG BIFFLE -- No. 16 3M Ford Fusion (Finished 30th)
"I'm pretty upset. These guys work so hard and these Busch Series races are so hard to win. We finally have a car to win with and Carl was fast. We were saving a little bit for the end, but then Carl crashed out and it didn't feel like there was anybody who was gonna beat us. It's unfortunate. Clint didn't take any tires. He was trying to hold us off and we had four new tires on the car. Normally, experienced guys like that don't make those kinds of mistakes. It's inexperienced guys driving over their head that make mistakes like that. We all make mistakes and it just got out from under him. It's unfortunate that we tore up this good race car."
WHAT WERE YOUR OPTIONS WHEN THE WRECK STARTED? "I was on the brakes as hard as I could. The thing was, I got a little wiggle myself and then I got back in the throttle and I had a huge run at him, so I was already closing on him before he started to spin out. There wasn't a lot I could do. I was already closing on him and then he spun and it looked like he was gonna go down, so I got on the brakes as hard as I could and there just wasn't anywhere for me to go unfortunately. You can't just cut these cars down. You think, 'Boy, you just go under him,' but he kind of trapped me up in the guard rail. It's really, really terrible because that was almost about like a gimme win for us tonight if something crazy like that didn't happen. We had our track position and it's unfortunate."
WHAT HAPPENED? "It's not very often we see veteran guys, I call him a veteran because Clint Bowyer has won a Cup race, he's pretty experienced and has a good race car. I think he was just driving a little over his head. I had four new tires and he's trying to hold us off with the old tires and it just got away from him and collected us. It was unfortunate. It didn't feel like anybody was gonna have a chance at beating us. I felt like it was ours to give away and, unfortunately, we gave it away."
CARL EDWARDS -- No. 60 Scotts Ford Fusion (Finished 33rd)
"Jimmie got loose. I was gonna miss him, but somebody just got me in the left rear. I did the best I could to save it because I didn't want to just lock it down right there -- so many guys were racing so hard I didn't want to get hit and I ended up wrecking it. We had the fastest car. All the way to the infield care center I thought to myself, 'Man, we should have stayed out in the lead,' and then I just saw the leaders wrecked, so I don't know if there was a safe place out there on that deal. It's Friday the 12th -- that's close enough to bad luck."
DID YOU TALK TO JIMMIE IN THE AMBULANCE? "Yeah, I didn't know if something broke or whatever. I just wanted to make sure he knew I wasn't mad at him or anything. Something happened and he got loose and spun out. That's just racing here. It's really high pressure racing here. The tires make a ton of grip and there's really no room for error. It's tough."
YOU HAD THE CAR TO BEAT. "Oh yeah, we had the fastest car out there. It was a great day to be driving a Ford Fusion. Greg Biffle was awesome. We were great. It's not been a good year for lawns and it's not been a good second half of the season for this Scotts Fusion. It's just too bad it ended up like that because the guys did a great job."
DAVID RAGAN -- No. 6 Discount Tire Ford Fusion (Finished 6th)
"At times our car was really great and at times it was average. It just so happened that last caution helped us out a lot. I don't know if everybody else kind of came back to us and we stayed the same speed or if we got a lot faster, but in the Busch Series you only get four or five sets of tires to choose from and you've just got to make sure you put them at the right time. That's what we were fighting. We were so close to being a top five or top six car, it was just a matter of fine-tuning, but it was an excellent run and we'll certainly take it."
ROBBY GORDON -- No. 55 Verizon Wireless Ford Fusion (Finished 7th)
"We were racy most of the day, but we got in the wall early and then I got in the wall with only two to go or else I probably would have finished fourth or fifth. It was a good run for the Verizon Wireless Ford. I thought we were gonna be the best Ford there for a while and David got me there with two laps to go when I got in the fence. But it was a good run for us. The engine ran good and we didn't really have any issues besides hitting the wall a couple of times. I lost a lap when I hit the wall and finally got ourselves in position to get the lucky dog and finished seventh. I'm happy. It was a good day."
KELLY BIRES -- No. 47 AutoZone/Armor All Ford Fusion (Finished 9th)
"We knew we had a good car. We just worked on race trim all day yesterday and we were just smart about it today. We probably could have got a top five car, but we just needed to finish here today and get one under our belts. We've been having really good cars lately and everybody's been doing a great job -- all the way from the fab shop to the motor shop. We had a good motor in this car. It's just more of what we need every week. I'm just real proud of all the guys. It was Armor All's last race, so I'm glad we could send them out with a good finish."
THE LAST 10 LAPS LOOKED PRETTY INTENSE? "Yeah, it got really tight for some reason the last five laps of that race. We had a fifth-place car realistically. Our car was good on the long run and good all the way through. We just made small adjustments throughout the night. We played it safe and came home with a good finish. I wish we wouldn't have lost those couple of spots in the last couple of laps, but it's good to get a top 10 under my belt."
GOOD FOR YOUR CONFIDENCE? "Yeah, absolutely. They've been giving me good cars every week here, it's just that we haven't had the best luck to finish them. The last two races besides this one have been really, really good. We've just been working on getting our balance right in practice and it's paying off. We're not really worrying about qualifying. I'd rather be comfortable for 300 miles rather than one lap for qualifying, so we're doing a good job and we're gaining as a team."
