SPARTANBURG, SC (October 7, 2003) -- On Monday, October 6, Team Yellow driver David Stremme traveled to Sioux Falls, SD and Des Moines, IA to visit the Yellow Customer Service Centers and meet the best customer service professionals in the industry. The visit was part of a week-long salute to Yellow customer service professionals that is a part of National Customer Service Week.
Stremme answered employee questions about Yellow Racing at both centers. When asked about the pink tape that is routinely placed on the #1 cars' front end, he explained that the tape is used for aerodynamics. He also admitted though that the color choice ties to some superstitions on the team's part; if the team is running well with pink, the color won't change. Stremme was later given a pair of "Swamp Holly Orange" socks to wear in Friday's Little Trees 300 race. Similar to the tape, if he does well, Stremme promised to wear orange socks for the rest of the season.
The visit to the Customer Service Centers was an eye opening experience for Stremme. "Both of the service centers had walls dedicated strictly to racing, and the decorations throughout both centers were great," Stremme said. "The employees have put some extra pressure on me as a driver, because every time Team Yellow finishes in the top-10 they get to wear casual clothes on Friday, and every time we win, they get to wear casual clothes all week!"
Team Yellow will celebrate National Customer Service Week with a special decal on the rear quarter panel of the car for Friday nights Little Trees 300 race at Lowe's Motor Speedway to salute the world class customer service professionals. The decal will also have the 1-800-610-6500 number that customers call for assistance.
The Little Trees 300 at Lowe's Motor Speedway will be held on Friday, October 10. The race will be tape delayed to Saturday, October 11 at Noon on TNT and be broadcast live on PRN beginning at 7:30 p.m. EDT. Qualifying for the event will take place Thursday, October 9 at 4:30 p.m. EDT and will be aired on the Speed Channel.
