BUSCH: Buckshot Jones says South Boston is a tough track

"For the most part we've been running the bigger tracks and now we're headed to the Saturday night bullrings for the next two races. It's definitely exciting and the tempers always seem to flare at South Boston." --Buckshot Jones, driver of the No. 00 Cheez-It Chevrolet

Buckshot's Thoughts on Getting Around South Boston... "It's tough to lay down a good qualifying lap at South Boston because you have to have a car that turns well and gets through the corners. When it comes time for the race, track position is everything and you need to be able to take a little and give a little all night long on the track and in the pits."

South Boston Notes... Jones experienced his first career NASCAR Busch Series top-10 finish at South Boston Speedway on July 29, 1995 when he finished 9th in only his second career Busch Series start.

Buckshot Racing shock specialist and spotter Chris Rice will be attending a homecoming of sorts this weekend at South Boston Speedway. Originally from South Boston, Va., Chris was the crew chief for Elliott Sadler when he competed in the Late Model Stock division at South Boston Speedway from 1994-1996.

Jones has an average starting position of 8th place at South Boston Speedway including two top-10 finishes in four races. The two top-10 finishes came after starting from inside the top-10.

Last Weekend At Dover Downs...

"Despite our poor qualifying effort, we had a good race car when it came time to race. From the time the race started, we kept moving towards the front until the last round of pit stops at halfway. We were running in 12th at the time and when we put those tires on we went straight to the back. We had another set of tires to use but without another caution flag we didn't want to give up the track position and ended up in 23rd." <pre> Buckshot Jones Cumulative NASCAR Busch Series Record Starts Wins Top 5s Top 10s Poles Earnings 120 2 13 30 2 $1,658,433
