"Charlotte is probably the most fickle of the tracks we race at because the track conditions change so much. At Dover Downs Two Weeks Ago...

The Buckshot Racing team earned just their third top-10 finish of the 2000 season by finishing sixth. Jones recorded his last top-10 finish at Talladega Superspeedway in April when he finished second.

"We had the best pit stops we've had all year and that's what moved us to the front," Jones said at Dover two weeks ago. Every time we pitted, the guys in the pits were able to pick me up five positions. This is where (sixth place) we expected to be finishing all year, but one thing after another has bitten us."

Looking For Similar Results...

Buckshot Racing will compete with the same car which captured the pole position at Michigan Speedway in August by breaking the old track record by more than one second. In August, the team tested this same car in the wind tunnel prior to bringing the car to Michigan Speedway and winning the pole. Hoping for similar qualifying results, Buckshot Racing again tested the car in the wind tunnel in September.

Better Days Ahead...

The May race at Charlotte provided plenty of problems for the Buckshot Racing team. After battling a front suspension problem and running out of gas with 15 laps to go in the race, Buckshot leaped from 24th with ten laps remaining to finish 17th.

Premature Birthday Wishes...

Buckshot Racing team member Kenny Horton will celebrate a birthday on October 12. Horton is the tire specialist and front tire carrier for the No. 00 Cheez-It Chevrolet. Happy Birthday Kenny!
