YOU RECORDED A SOLID TOP-THREE FINISH. "Yeah, it was. I'll tell you, the guys did a great job in the pits. It was a great job in the pits with the calls on stopping for tires and they built me a great cat, the Grainger Ford. The guys did an awesome job. Scott Wimmer had a pretty good car. We definitely had something for him after that pit stop, but mine started to go away a little bit. Maybe running a little too hard too early trying to get away from Keller and Harvick there, but I'm excited. All the fenders are on it, it's straight and it's a good race car, and we'll be able to run it again."
JASON KELLER-57-Albertsons Ford Taurus (Finished 9th)
WHY DID YOU MAKE TWO PIT STOPS DURING THE RACE? WAS THAT PART OF YOUR STRATEGY? "We just went for it. We knew we were going to lose track position. We were just too tight. I really feel bad; I missed the setup really bad. I really thought in Happy Hour yesterday that we had something for them. I just sent Steve (Addington) really in the wrong direction. It's nobody's fault but my own because I made him change some things he really didn't want to change. I'm going to stop trying to set the car up and let him set the car up." YOU MADE IT OUT OF HERE IN ON PIECE. "I said all along that it's going to be tough to race for points here. We just missed the setup a little bit. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it. We can't control when Biffle finished and we just missed it a little bit."
WERE YOU WORRIED ABOUT RESTARTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PACK AND GETTING CAUGHT IN AN ACCIDENT AFTER MAKING THE SECOND PIT STOP? "Well, we almost did, but there again, we're trying to better ourselves. We are racing Biffle for the championship, but we are trying to better ourselves, too."
SCOTT RIGGS-10-Nestle Nesquik Ford Taurus (Finished 18th)
WHY DID YOU PIT UNDER GREEN? "We had another bit of bad luck here this weekend. We had to come in under green because there was a hole in the right-rear tire. Then, I made a rookie mistake and came in on the backstretch. When you're pitted on the frontstretch you're only supposed to come in on the backstretch under caution and I didn't think. I came in over there. We were going to lose a couple of laps anyway, but we lost another couple of laps because of that. That was my mistake and I hate. These guys work awful hard and give me great race cars and they're doing everything right, we just need to have a little luck and somehow learn how to keep some air in these Goodyears. Goodyear has a great tire, but like I say, Lady Luck is just throwing needles under our tires and we're getting holes in them. Like I say, we're just going to come back next week, and hopefully have some better luck."
HOW PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WAS TONIGHT'S RACE? "When I finally started feeling the heat and getting a little tired, that's when I relaxed and I actually think I drove better and had more consistent laps when I did that. When I relaxed I could go another 100 laps right now; I feel fine. I just hate the luck."
BOBBY HAMILTON, JR.-25-Team Marines Ford Taurus (Finished 32nd)
WHAT HAPPENED? "The 38 car chopped us off. We just have to put the pieces back and go back to wherever we go next and stay the hell out of Mark Green's way, that's for sure. We'll take the Team Marines Ford to Darlington and try to pick up the pieces there. I knew it was going to happen. You start in the back and you get into this type of stiff. We'll just have to on from here."
MARK GREEN-38-Deka Batteries Ford Taurus (Finished 37th)
WHAT HAPPENED? "We got going back after that restart and getting into turn one, everybody stacks up and you slow down. The spotter said the 25 was looking but it wasn't there, and I guess he just drove it down in there and caught me. I don't know if it was my fault or his, but it tore my car up pretty good. It's just a shame for our sponsors, Deka and Great Clips. We had a good car and we were just trying to be patient and let everything fall out where it is and then go race, but guys are just running over each other. How many cautions have we had? We got 30 laps in and we already had six cautions."
