WHAT HAPPENED COMING TO THE CHECKERED FLAG? "The 33 and whoever he was racing against were door to door there and they banged and I was trying to shoot three-wide in there between him and the lapped car. They came down and hit my front-end and knocked me to turn me around. I hate that. The biggest thing I hate is that we can't make mistakes and I made a mistake tonight and it ended up putting us to the rear and hurt ourselves track position-wise. It was my mistake coming into the pits pretty hard. I got good and tried to speed in there and I missed my pit and had to suffer the price. We were still able to come back and be OK and finish in the top 10. That's how good these guys are. They're not going to give up. They kept making changes. The car was bad all weekend really. We just kept working on it trying to make it better and never giving up and striving hard and digging and clawing for every inch. We're going to keep doing that until this season is over."
DID YOU DECIDE TO PIT AFTER THE NO. 37 CAR PASSED YOU? "I saw him and he got by me because I had been out there so long on those tires. We fell back that far, about 15th or so, and we decided to go ahead and come in and get that last set of tires and try to dodge the bullets and get up there. We were able to get a pretty good top-10 out of it."
JASON KELLER-57-Albertsons Ford Taurus (Finished 11th)
"I didn't see that coming after yesterday. I really felt that after Happy Hour that we were pretty good. We ran a little bit different setup. We knew that going in, but I don't know if I didn't get enough laps in yesterday or what. I didn't read that yesterday. There's no excuse for it but my own. I have to be a little bit better than that."
DID THE TRACK CONDITIONS CHANGE WITH ALL OF THE WINSTON CUP ACTIVITY AND THE RAIN SHOWER TODAY? "I just think I didn't read it good enough. I can't make excuses and I'll take the blame for this. We wanted to finish this deal. Heck, the guys in the points kinda opened the door for us. We've got to be able to capitalize and we weren't able to do that tonight."
KASEY KAHNE-38-Great Clips Ford Taurus (Finished 14th)
"We were back in the mix in the middle of everything all night. It was a wild night, but I guess that's Bristol for you. I didn't have any problems with anybody. We had two rubbing matches but that's part of Bristol. We just had a slow car. We could never get going. We tried a lot of stuff early in the race, and I realized that the adjustments weren't going to work, so we just stayed with what we had and finished the race."
MATT KENSETH-17-Alka-Seltzer Morning Relief Ford Taurus (Finished 25th)
WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN YOU AND HORNADAY? "The 2 got a good restart and the 99 passed him. We got by the 99, and we got a run on Hornaday and I got hit by his left-rear tire. I should have known he wasn't going to give me any room, but we got together, I slowed down and got hit from behind. When that happened I knew it was going to be a long night. The wreck happened, I slowed down and we got run over. It's too bad, we had a good car, but I shouldn't have been in there the first place I guess."
BOBBY HAMILTON, JR.-25-Team Marines Ford Taurus (Finished 34th)
WHAT HAPPENED TO PUT YOU BEHIND THE WALL? "I was trying to come back to the front and I think one of the lapped cars, as usual, was holding up the line and I came off the corner and they stopped. I hit the 33 in the butt and all this stuff happened (front-end damage). It ain't what we needed, but like I said before, if I could have had a top-20 and got out of here, I would have taken it."
