Sadler, FanZCar Ready For Bristol

BRISTOL, TN - - The NASCAR Busch Series will roar into Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend for their first of many short track events of the 2004 season. Bristol Motor Speedway, nicknamed "The World's Fastest Half-Mile" is well known for providing some of the best short track racing on the tour.

The No. 02 Chevrolet Monte Carlo will be jolted by The FanZCar, which returns as the primary sponsor for Saturday's Sharpie Professional 250.

Heading into BMS this weekend, Sadler has fourteen career Busch starts with a career best finish of sixth, which occurred in 1993 after starting 32nd. Starting upfront at a short track is crucial, and the 1993 NASCAR Busch Series Rookie-of-the-Year is no stranger to that, as in 1997 he grabbed the pole in superb fashion. Sadler was not able to win from the pole that day, but backed it up with a very comfortable 21st place finish.

I love Bristol, like most drivers do," said the driver of car 02. "We ran well there last year, starting in the back because of a blown engine in practice and getting back up to third with a few laps left before an oil line separated and ended our day. It is one of the tracks that I have a pole at, so I always look forward to going there," replied the 34-year old driver.

The SCORE Motorsports team is heading into this weekend's event itching for their first top ten finish of the season. In the team's last event (Darlington) after starting 26th, Sadler rallied his way to finish 18th, while also gaining four valuable positions in the point standings.

"I definitely think we can crack the top ten, even the top 5. We are taking the same car that we had a Darlington, which was one of the fastest cars on the track at the end of the race. We learned some things about the car that I think we can apply to this weekend," Sadler mentioned.

"Darlington overall was good because nothing bad happened. We were not pleased with qualifying, but by the end of the race, we were competitive," he remarked. "You have to remember that this is a new team. This is my first year with Ernie Cope, and the whole racetrack crew is new to me. It will take some time, but we will get better."

David Eugene Woody, William Francis Sanders, Jessica R. Coleman, Ellen R Sanders, Wendy Sue Henning, and Anthony Davis will all have a huge weekend ahead of them. These six members will be at Bristol representing The FanZCar and cheering on Hermie Sadler.

Sadler, who is a former ARCA RE/MAX Series competitor will have a full plate this weekend as he will attempt both NASCAR events. On Saturday, Sadler will start his fifth Busch start of the season, while on Sunday he is hoping to make his 2004 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup debut behind the wheel of SCORE Motorsports' No. 02 East Tennessee Trailers machine for the Food City 500.

"I am looking forward to the Cup race at Bristol, as well as representing ETT Trailers. We feel like we can go there and have a respectable showing," said the two-time NASCAR Busch winner.

The FanZCar will hop over to NEXTEL Cup series and join the No. 02 Pontiac Grand Prix. Sunday will also mark the first time in The FanZCar young NASCAR career they serve as an associate sponsor for a Cup event.

Rolling into Bristol, Sadler has 230 NASCAR Busch Series starts to his record, 2 wins, 18 top-fives, 44 top-tens, three poles, and has achieved $2,229,274 in career earnings.
