Hamilton, Jr. To Make A Pit Stop On His Way to Bristol
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. will visit Daniel Boone High School in Johnson City, TN on Thursday, March 21, 2002 from noon to 2pm.
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. on Bristol:
"Bristol is always a really wild and exciting race, for both the drivers and the fans. You never really know what is going to happen there. I have always run pretty good at Bristol but something has always happened to keep me from finishing the race. This is my type of race track. You have to be aggressive and you have to be aware of what is going on around you at all times. I am just going to concentrate on having a top qualifying position, staying out of trouble staying up front. We've been close to having a top-ten finish for the last two weeks and I'm predicting that this will be our week. But then again, this IS Bristol."
Crew chief, Fred Wanke on Bristol:
"I am really looking forward to going back to Bristol. It's one of my favorite race tracks. Never a dull moment there, that's for sure. Bristol is unlike any other track. It's not about tires. It's not about fuel strategy. It's not about perfect aerodynamics. What is key at Bristol is a good handling race car. You have to able to stay down on the bottom of the track all day long. If you can't, you're going to run into trouble. At Bristol track position is EVERYTHING. Qualifying up front is crucial. Then you have to worry about staying up front and avoiding the accidents. If you can do that, you have a really good shot at conquering the race track and winning the race."
