Greg Biffle earned the pole for the Busch event at Bristol Motor Speedway, and set a new track qualifying record with a lap of 127.132 mph. Biffle bested the field by almost one mile per hour to score his first pole of the season.

"We are real excited," said Biffle. "The win last week, we've got great momentum. We love racing here. We look forward to having a good race; we think the car is going to be good on long runs."

This is Biffle's tenth career pole.

It's a comeback for the No. 60 Roush Ford, who was embroiled in trouble in this morning's practice session. Biffle and the No. 75 of Jay Sauter decided to finish some business on track this morning, but Sauter came out on the bad side. The No. 75 was completely trashed after Biffle made contact with Sauter.

Martin Truex, Jr. piloting the No. 8 Chance2 Chevy starts from the outside pole with a lap of 126.679 mph.

"It was a great run for us, we're real excited for the weekend," said Truex. "We had a great car and we are real excited for our chances."

David Green's lap of 126.030 mph was good enough for third. Green looks good for Saturday, with his eighth top-five career start at Bristol.

"I probably pushed it too hard, we were a little loose," said Green. "It was one of them deals where when you do good in the morning, you are a little hesitant to change anything. We probably should have tweaked it a little."

Bobby Hamilton, Jr. and Kevin Harvick complete the top five.
