On Tuesday, Kentucky Speedway and NASCAR announced that the NASCAR Busch Series would visit the new 1.5 mile speedway located in Sparta, KY in 2001 and Brewco Motorsports, the only NASCAR team based in Kentucky, couldn't be happier. Brewco Motorsports, headquartered 185 miles from Kentucky Speedway in Central City, fields the No. 27 Castrol GTX Chevrolet Monte Carlo with driver Casey Atwood, the No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet Monte Carlo with driver Kevin Grubb and the No. 39 Williams Travel Centers Chevrolet Monte Carlo with driver Andy Kirby. "It's always nice to add another race when it is local," said Clarence Brewer, owner of Brewco Motorsports. "Kentucky doesn't have a major league sports franchise and the new track is filling that void. NASCAR is becoming Kentucky's sport. The truck series and IRL races were very successful this year and the Busch Series should surpass both. It's very possible that the race in 2001 could set a stand alone event attendance record."
