Lipton, RagÚ and Kroger to support Paul Wolfe's Busch Series Race at Atlanta Oct. 25
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (OCT. 23, 2003)- Paul Wolfe, who made his debut in the NASCAR Busch Series at Dover International Speedway Sept. 20, is preparing to make his second career appearance in the series later this month at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Wolfe, who has been a regular in the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch North Series, will drive the No. 6 Dodge owned by Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR). The Aaron's 312 will be run at Atlanta Saturday, Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. Qualifying is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 24 at 1:40 p.m.
To prepare for the race, Wolfe tested the LIPTON®-RAGÚ® Dodge at the 1.54-mile quad-oval track on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Wolfe was the seventh fastest among Busch drivers testing with a time of 30.69 seconds (180.645 miles per hour).
"We learned quite a bit from the testing session," Wolfe said. "We ran some decent times, but the main focus was for me to run some laps and get a handle on what the car will do on the track. Atlanta is a very fast track with a lot of room to race, but if you are off a little bit with the setup it can really affect the handling of the car. I am confident will have learned enough to be very competitive in the race."
When Wolfe runs his qualifying laps on Oct. 24, it will mark the first time he has run time trials in the Busch Series. Qualifying for Wolfe's first Busch Series race at Dover was washed out due to Hurricane Isabel. Just like he did at Dover, Wolfe will have primary sponsorship support from two Unilever Bestfoods brands: LIPTON and RAGÚ. The Kroger Company, one of the nation's largest grocery retailers, will be an associate sponsor for the race.
"Unilever Bestfoods is excited about supporting Paul Wolfe at Atlanta," said Steve Yambor, Region Sales Manager for Unilever Bestfoods North America. "Paul Wolfe is a tough competitor, and we are proud to support him in his rookie season. Unilever Bestfoods is excited to gain exposure for our LIPTON and RAGÚ brands with the brand-loyal NASCAR fans at the race track and on national television."
"For us to be successful, one of the keys will be a strong qualifying performance," Wolfe said. "I am looking forward having a strong showing for our team and our sponsors LIPTON, RAGÚ and Kroger."
TNT will broadcast the Aarons's 312 live at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. SPEED Channel will broadcast qualifying for the Aaron's 312 live at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24. Qualifying will be replayed that day at 9:30 p.m. and the next morning at 1 a.m.
