Sherrills Ford, NC- Michael Waltrip and the Aaronís "Dream Machine" team arrives in Atlanta this week with high hopes of their first win in the 2001 Busch Grand National series. An extra incentive for Waltrip and the Aaronís "Dream Machine" team is Aaronís will be sponsoring the Busch race at Atlanta.
Waltrip heads to Atlanta this weekend with his sights set on the 8th win of his Busch Grand National career. Waltripís most recent Busch series win came in 1999 at Lowes Motor Speedway. Waltrip has seven career Busch series starts at Atlanta, one top five and two top ten finishes.
Waltrip stated, "I have received a lot of support from the good folks at Aaronís and they have really put a lot into the Aaronís 312 race at Atlanta. I am looking forward to representing them. I know it would be great for Aaronís if I won, so we are going to try and pull it off."
This weekend will be Waltripís first race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in a Busch Grand National car since 1999. "I look forward to going to Atlanta. I know a lot about the track and have good notes from the past. So I know I am going to run good here," stated Waltrip.
Waltrip understands the key to a good finish and, with his experience at Atlanta, he feels it will yield a top ten. "We have to be smart and drive hard the whole race. John Wilson and all the guys in the motor shop are giving us motors with a lot of horsepower. I feel it is enough power to win," said Waltrip.
Bud Pole Qualifying for the Aaronís 312 will take place on Friday March 9th at 1:00 p.m. (EST). The event starts at 1:00 p.m. (EST) on Saturday March 10th and will be televised live on FX at 12:30 p.m. (EST). PRN radio will be broadcasting live at 1:00 p.m. (EST).
