In last season's event at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Kevin had his first 'interview' with the Ridling Motorsports team. After starting the race in his own entry, Kevin was caught up in an early race accident which forced him from the event.

The Ridling Motorsports entry, with rookie driver Pete Orr behind the wheel, was experiencing severe handling problems. Team owner David Ridling asked Kevin if he would get in the car to help sort out the problems.

"After taking a few laps in their car, I suggested a few changes and immediately the car was very fast," explained Kevin. "I was very impressed with the entire Ridling Motorsports team and their equipment."

Four races later Orr resigned and Kevin was offered the driving duties in the Ridling Motorsports Chevrolet. In the remaining 19 races, Kevin scored one win, three top five and 10 top 10 finishes.

The No. 88 HYPE Chevrolet Monte Carlo simulator will be at the Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville, Kentucky in the Ryder Driver Recruiting booth.

Following the Stihl Outdoor Power Tool 300, Kevin and the HYPE/Ridling Motorsports team will head to the Texas Motor Speedway for a two-day test session on March 11-12. After the test, the team will travel directly to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the inaugural event on March 16th.

The Kevin Lepage Fan Club is still accepting members. The membership fee is $12 for the 1997 season and includes race updates and special merchandise discounts. For information call (704) 664-0225 or write 159 Bevan Dr, Mooresville, NC 28115
