Successful Lowe's Test For Fike and #43 Ollie's Bargain Outlet Curb-Agajanian Dodge

CORNELIUS, NC (September 30, 2004) -- Practice and consistency was the goal for 21-year old Aaron Fike and the #43 Ollie's Bargain Outlet Curb-Agajanian Dodge at the open test at Lowe's Motor Speedway this past Wednesday night. With only 20 laps under his belt at Lowe's prior to this week's test, Aaron did not know what to expect, but he rose to the occasion, setting lap times in the high 30-second/low 31-second range.

This test comes on the heels of Aaron's first top-20 in the NASCAR Busch Series, with a 17th place finish last weekend at Dover's "Monster Mile," his seventh start in Busch. "I don't have much experience at bigger tracks like Charlotte, but the #43 Ollie's Bargain Outlet team really stepped up to make me feel comfortable out there," said Aaron. "We were able to try things all night and by the end we turned some pretty good laps."

Crew chief Joe Shear was also impressed by Aaron's performance at the test. "When we left the shop, I messed with Aaron and told him that I didn't think he could break a 31.80 second lap his first time out," he said. "I guess that provided him some motivation because we ended up getting a 31.06 out of him in his first ten laps. I think we're ready for Kansas City and Charlotte."

Aaron Fike and the #43 Ollie's Bargain Outlet team look forward to their next challenge, the Mr. Goodcents 300 at Kansas Speedway on Saturday, October 9th. Television coverage of the race will be on TNT at 2:00pm EST.

Aaron looks forward to racing on Kansas' 1.5-mile oval. "Kansas should be a lot of fun," he said. "My confidence level is way up after the test, so I think the #43 Ollie's Bargain Outlet team will put on a good show out there."
