Over the last couple of years, Jason Leffler has proved that he has a knack for beating and banging on the "World's Fastest Half-Mile." In his last five Nationwide Series starts at the famed track, Leffler has two top-five and three top-10 finishes. He has one pole to his credit as well (fall, 2007). He has led a total of 81 laps.
In the Loop... According to NASCAR Loop Data Statistics, Leffler sits in the top-10 in a number of categories for Bristol including Fastest Laps Run (6th), Green Flag Passes (3rd), Laps in Top-15 (7th), Laps Led (7th), Passes by Straightaway (7th), Passes by Turn (3rd) and Quality Passes (4th).
Leffler currently sits eighth in the Nationwide Series championship point standings.
LEFFLER ON THE START OF THE 2009 SEASON
"This is the best start we have had to a season in as long as I can remember. We have always seemed to struggle at California and Las Vegas and then have had to climb our way out of the hole as far as the point standings go. This year, we came away with good, solid finishes from both of those tracks and I think we all feel like we got a monkey off our back. It's nice to be sitting eighth in points after three races and building off of that positive momentum instead of trying to turn things around just three races into the season."
