Sean Murphy Looks to Build Momentum at Bristol NASCAR Nationwide Event
Murphy Returns to Pilot #81 MacDonald Motorsports Dodge for Thursday Night Showdown
Sean Murphy has been called on to return to the #81 MacDonald Motorsports Dodge for Thursday nights Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN.
It will be Murphy's first-ever start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at Bristol and third-start in the series. But it won't be the first time he's raced at the track.
In 2007 Murphy qualified 2nd and posted a top five in the ASA Late Model Series. He led several laps of the 2008 ASA Late Model event and ended with a 7th place finish despite having severe tire issues. Murphy also posted a 17th place finish the same year in the NASCAR Truck Series. The race will be longer and the competition tougher, but Murphy is up for the challenge.
"I'm really looking forward to Bristol," said Murphy. "It's going to be a challenging race, but I think I've learned the kind of patience it will take to run there. I want to keep on pace but stay in the race. That's going to be the main goal to be there in the end."
