Sadler Returns to the No. 9 Bumper to Bumper Dodge at Bristol
STATESVIILE, N.C. -- Elliott Sadler takes the wheel of the No. 9 Dodge for the third time this season under the lights at the .533-mile, high-banked Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday night. Sadler recorded one of his five career Nationwide Series wins in the spring race at Bristol 10 years ago.
"It's been a long time since I got behind the wheel of a Nationwide Series car at Bristol," said Sadler. "But that just makes me hungry for a win. I know we have a great car prepared and I absolutely love racing at Bristol Motor Speedway. I would love to top Kasey Kahne's second place finish he put up in the spring."
Talk about racing in the Nationwide Series: "The Nationwide Series has produced some of the most exciting races of the season so far. There is a lot of talent in the Nationwide Series and it only seems to be getting stronger each race. The No. 9 Bumper to Bumper team has been competitive all season and since we are visiting my favorite race track I thought it would be fun to get behind the wheel and join in the action. The cars are a little different and the drivers are a little different, but there is a lot of excitement and I am looking forward to it."
Talk about your last trip to Bristol in the Nationwide Series: "Man, it was a while ago. The last time I raced in the Nationwide Series at Bristol was in 1999. I won the spring race in the Nationwide Series the year before and had high hopes for that race, but in the end I started 24th and finished 24th. I am going all out on Friday night. We want to go out and record a win. Kasey finished second with the same car in the spring, so I would love to be able to win and rub it in a little bit -- nothing serious of course, but we like a little friendly competition among teammates."
Chassis Info: The No. 9 Bumper to Bumper Dodge team will use GEM chassis #B11; the same chassis Kasey Kahne raced to a second-place finished second at Bristol in March.
