Armstrong finds new home for 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series season

Dakoda Armstrong will pilot the No. 28 JGL Racing Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2016.

JGL Racing team manager Steven Lane confirmed Armstrong’s appointment. Lane also told the organization will have support from Toyota Racing Development. The Camrys will be powered with Joe Gibbs Racing engines. Lane will also serve as Armstrong’s crew chief.

Armstrong, who finished 12th in the 2015 NXS standings in his second full season piloting the No. 43 WinField Ford for Richard Petty Motorsports, replaces J.J. Yeley in the No. 28 Camry.

Prior to his stint with RPM, the 24-year-old New Castle, Ind. native ran six NXS races for RCR while piloting the No. 60 Chevy in the Camping World Truck Series.

JGL Racing is still in the process of determining the driver lineup for its second team. Although that effort ran under the No. 26 last season, Lane added the team will return to the No. 24 Camry.
