TODD TAKES TALLADEGA: Bodine earned his second NCTS win of 2008 on Saturday afternoon at Alabama's Talladega Superspeedway. Bodine shot to the outside of fellow Tundra driver Busch on the final lap and crossed the finish line by 0.074 seconds ahead of second-place Ron Hornaday, Jr. and third-place Busch. This year, Bodine swept the two 2008 NCTS superspeedway races at Daytona and Talladega. O ther Tundra drivers scoring top-10 finishes at Talladega included Busch (third), Wallace (fifth), Brian Scott (seventh) and Mike Skinner (ninth).
TODD TALKS: "I just wanted to push Kyle (Busch) to get that Toyota in victory lane," said Bodine, following the race. "We were pushing really good and I could push Kyle (Busch) really well. We came off of turn four and I tried to give him another shot to get him going again and he got a little sideways. So, I jumped to the outside. Ron (Hornaday, Jr.) was out there and he pushed me right on by for the win. It was incredible."
BODINE'S BREAK: "I don't think anybody masters these speedway races," continued Bodine. "It's about being in the right place at the right time and getting lucky breaks like I did down there. I didn't mean to hit Kyle (Busch) sideways, I tried to actually push him to make sure he would win. I got the break and got to the outside. I think there was only one master to these tracks and that was Dale (Earnhardt) Sr. and the rest of us are still learning from him."
TUNDRA TALLY: Tundra drivers have registered 11 NCTS wins through 20 races in 2008. Johnny Benson (Milwaukee, Kentucky, Indianapolis and Nashville), Busch (California, Atlanta and Bristol) and Bodine (Daytona and Talladega) each have multiple race wins this season. Tundra racers Speed (Dover) and Skinner (Las Vegas) each have one NCTS victory this year.
FOLLOW THE LEADER: Benson fell to second-place in the NCTS point standings following Talladega and is now 39 points behind leader Hornaday, Jr. Other Tundra drivers in the top -10 in NCTS points include Bodine (fourth), Skinner (sixth) and Terry Cook (10th).
