HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (October 10, 2000) - Randy Tolsma has found top 10 success for 300 miles at Texas Motor Speedway before. In a recent decision to extend the event to 400 miles. Tolsma sees that as an opportunity to go the distance, and finish as a winner in the Lone Star State.

"This team has always been awesome in Texas," explained Tolsma. "We finished third here in June and I think if the race went a little longer we might have had something for the eventual winner. I really think this CITGO-SUPERGARD Motor Oil team has what it takes to secure a win in Texas. We deserve it after all the ups and downs we've had this season."

Tolsma has two races left to score another win. He has been hungry for a taste of victory lane since the win at Nashville, but a string of late season bad luck has starved him. Tolsma finished 10th in Chicago, was collected in an accident in Richmond, and battled an ill handling truck for a 16th place finish in Dover.

"Texas has always been one of my favorite tracks on the circuit," stated Tolsma. "We finished 5th there in last years fall race. Gary Showalter and the team have the right stuff when it comes to setups for this track. Last time we were here our truck looked as though it went through the war because we got hit pretty hard on the right side. I thought it was going to mess up our aero package, but apparently it had no effect on things. I was still able to run well in the draft.

"The goal for the remainder of the season for this CITGO-SUPERGARD team is to finish as high as we can in the points, and make a good showing for CITGO and Dodge. We are set on remaining focused even though there have been many changes on our team with the plans and deals going on for next year."

Bud pole qualifying for the O'Reilly 400 will take place on Thursday October 12, 2000 at 6:30 p.m. EST. The event will take place on Friday October 13, 2000 at 8:00 p.m. EST and will be televised on ESPN and MRN Radio. <pre> Randy Tolsma No. 25 CITGO-SUPERGARD Motor Oil Dodge 2000 Statistics
