The TKO Motorsports team has been busy the past few weeks. Not only are they continuing to build new trucks but they also participated in a test with other Dodges at Talladega last Thursday.
Six Dodge teams tested at Talladega's superspeedway this past Thursday. The objective was to look at the aerodynamics of the trucks. TKO Motorsports brought their Las Vegas truck, a new truck painted in only primer gray. The team was very pleased to be able to shake down a new truck and run competitively with the other Dodge teams. Driver Randy Renfrow was also very exited with the whole performance. "We are looking forward to Las Vegas," stated crew chief Todd Myers, "the possibility for a strong finish is good."
The team is focused first on this weeks Richmond event. The truck will be the same one Randy ran at Gateway. Richmond is somewhat of a home track for Randy, since this is the closest track the NCTS runs to his hometown of Raleigh. He has started in the last three truck series events here. Randy's best finish here came in 1996 when he qualified 22nd and finished 12th.
"This will be my first time coming here with this strong of a team behind me," said Randy, " It is very exciting and the TKO team is full of talent." "Richmond is a small Pikes Peak. The "D" shape is long and round with pretty good banking for the size. Turn two is the corner to master because it is so tight. You figure it out and you will be there in the end."
Come out and catch the action at the Virginia is for Lovers 200, Thursday September 9th at 8:00pm EST. Also catch Randy at the Chesterfield Towne Center Sears store signing autographs from 6:30 to 7:30pm.
