ThorSport partners with Ford for 2018 season
ThorSport officially announced its partnership with Ford Performance on Monday.
The Sandusky, Ohio-based team owned by Duke and Rhonda Thorson has competed in the Camping World Truck Series since 1996 when it debuted with Chevrolet. The company transitioned to Toyota in 2012 until they announced last week the intention to change manufacturers.
“With 23 years in the NCWTS, we look forward to our new partnership with Ford Performance in NASCAR,” said team owner Duke Thorson. “Our pursuit of wins and championships remains at the forefront of our objectives.”
ThorSport teams have won 16 races, 17 poles and two truck titles with Matt Crafton, who returns to the fold with sponsorship from Menards for 2018. This year marks Crafton’s 14th season with the organization.
“We’re excited that ThorSport Racing has decided to switch to a F-Series truck for the 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series,” said Mark Rushbrook, global director, Ford Performance Motorsports. “ThorSport is a proven championship-level team in the series, and we look forward to providing them the aero and simulation technical support that will ensure they remain at the top level of the Truck Series.”
ThorSport will release its full driver and sponsor lineup in the coming weeks.
