FORT WORTH, Texas - After posting his fastest lap of the day on his first qualifying lap, Tracy Hines crashed on the circuit around the Texas Motor Speedway in qualifying for the O'Reilly Auto Parts 400 NASCAR Truck Series (NTS) race Thursday, June 10. The race is slated for Friday, June 11.

"On my first lap, I had it flat-footed all the way around," Hines said. "It was smooth and consistent. The second lap, I went through one and two just fine. I came through three and it didn't bobble at all, then it just stepped out and snapped around."

Hines first lap was 30.321 seconds (178.094 miles per hour), which earned him the 21st starting position in the 34-truck field. Ted Musgrave won the pole (29.839/180.971).

Damage caused in the second lap accident forced the ThorSport Racing team to pull out a backup No. 88 Menards Chevrolet. Due to the truck change, Hines will drop to the rear of the field for the start of the race. The team got the backup prepared in time for Hines to make a few laps in a final practice session Thursday night.

The O'Reilly Auto Parts 400 is slated to begin at 9 p.m. EDT/6 p.m. PDT Friday, June 11. The race will be telecast live on SpeedChannel and broadcast on the radio affiliates of the Motor Racing Network.
