Timothy Peters on Texas Motor Speedway: "We had a pretty good race going at Texas last year until we had some problems that put us behind the wall for awhile. Texas looks like Charlotte and Atlanta but it certainly doesn't drive like Charlotte or Atlanta. Turns one and two are a lot tighter than Charlotte or Atlanta; really the whole track is tighter at Texas than the two similar tracks. In qualifying at Texas, you can hold it wide open but in the race you have to have a really good handling truck to hold it wide open. Handling is at such a premium there because if you handle well, especially on long runs, then you can keep your foot to the floor. If the handle isn't where it needs to be then you can't hold it wide open, and certainly the longer you have the throttle down there the faster you are going to go. We had good truck there last year and I am really looking forward to going back."
Moving On Up: "We have done what we needed to do in order to put ourselves in a better spot in the points. That was to finish the past few races. We moved up 8 positions in the owner's points two races ago and we moved up three spots last week so that helps us a lot. We know we aren't in any danger qualifying wise and we can focus on getting these trucks really good in the race. The confidence on the whole team has really grown and hopefully it will continue to show in our performance."
Gaining Confidence: "I am just getting more comfortable in my equipment. I have had more opportunities to run these mile-and-a-half intermediate tracks now that I am in my second year with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Last year coming in I hadn't had those types of opportunities, but now I have some experience on those type tracks and like I said I have confidence in my equipment. The guys on this Dodge Motorsports team have worked really hard to give me a competitive truck week in and week out and that helps you be comfortable on all the tracks we race on in this series."
