Colin Braun No.6 Con-way Freight Ford F-150
"Obviously being from Texas I'm really excited about racing there. I've never run there before, but we've had good runs at all the other mile-and-a-half tracks this season. We got a third-place finish at Kansas, so I expect to run well. I know the truck we're taking has a lot of great history so I'd like to add my name to the list of drivers who've won in that truck. We've had three first-time winners in the truck series the last three races, including two rookies, so I'm hoping to make it four-in-a-row in my home state."
Crew chief Mike Beam on racing at Texas:
"I'm sure Colin will have a good run at Texas. We're taking one of our favorite trucks which has always run well for us. Travis (Kvapil) won at Michigan, Nashville and Vegas with this truck last year, and Mark (Martin) won races with it in 2006. We haven't run it yet this year, but we just took it to the wind tunnel last week and were pleased with the numbers. It would be great for Colin to get his first win in his home state."
Bobby East Team: No.09 Zaxby's Ford F-150
"I'm really looking forward to Texas. After I raced in Kansas I spent a lot of time with Chad Norris and the guys working on what we can do to be better for Texas. I watched a DVD of last year's Texas race, and I also used some in-car camera footage to listen to the engine sounds to see where I was lifting in the corners compared to where Travis (Kvapil) did at a similar track. I think that will really help me hit my marks better. We're taking the same truck I raced at Kansas which I know is a good truck, so now we just have to put it all together."
Crew chief Chad Norris on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:
"I think Bobby will have a good run at Texas this weekend. He's been there twice before so he's familiar with the track, and after racing at Kansas he's familiar with the truck we're taking too. He's been in the shop a lot when he's not busy running USAC, so just having him around more has helped our communication. He's running at Michigan and Memphis with us this month so the more he's in the truck, the better he'll do. "
Erik Darnell Team: No.99 Northern Tool + Equipment Ford F-150
"I really like racing at Texas. The track reminds me a lot of Lowe's Motor Speedway and I feel very comfortable racing at these types of tracks. We had some tough luck last year at the speedway including a blown engine at the June race and being involved in a wreck on the last lap at November's Silverado 350k. We're bringing the same Ford F-150 we raced with back in Charlotte and I think we have a good shot of contending for a victory on Friday night."
Crew chief Matt Puccia on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:
"This Northern Tool + Equipment team has some very high expectations going into Friday night's Sam's Town 400. Erik and I both like the way the track is set up. Erik does some of his best racing on tracks like Texas. We have run well here in the past, even though our last two races have resulted in disappointing finishes. The No.99 team had a potential win last year at this race, but a late wreck ended our chances of a Texas victory. This Northern Tool + Equipment team has worked extremely hard to get our Ford F-150 ready for Friday's race."
