Chad McCumbee , No. 8 TheGPSStore.com/GARMIN Silverado, Qualified 2nd:

"It was a really good effort. Everybody on this MRD/Haas crew, that is their hard work. All I did was sit there and hold it open for two laps. Excellent job for our GPSStore.com/Garmin Silverado. It was really awesome there. It was almost like a Talladega lap there. The first lap I let it drift up a little bit and tried to keep it wound up. The second lap, I pinched it down a little bit trying to get some speed out of it because it was just so easy. They did a great job and I think we will be just as good tomorrow night.

"This is just a huge improvement for this team in the last few weeks. The guys on the team have been working as hard as they can possibly work and are finally getting some reward for it. That was the easiest laps I have ever ran.

"I have a lot going on write now. Petty Enterprises has given me an enormous opportunity during the summer and they are working really hard on some really cool stuff right now. We haven't nailed down exactly what is going on for next year, but there is a lot in the works. Driving for this Haas development team wasn't initially the plan, but with the success we have had the past few week, it has started to open some doors. There are conversations going on. I am very blessed to be having to make some decisions. We will just how it all falls in to place the next few weeks.

"When I came to this team, I was very impressed with the motor program. They have a lot of the correct resources and a lot of the correct people; it is just a matter of making it efficient and making things work and working as a whole. It has been a continued effort. Week after week these guys are getting better. Obviously this week they were great on the qualifying program. They have been great on practice. We have had really great practice and qualifying sessions here in the last few weeks. It is just the guys starting to gel together. We went and tested a couple of times and what we have learned there and we applied at the race track has worked really well. They had a lot of different things going on at the beginning of the year. I don't know exactly what, but I have been super happy with everybody over there so far and we have had some good tests and hopefully we can get that best career finish."
