DAVID STARR HOPES FOR HOME COURT ADVANTAGE

Hoping for that well-known home court advantage, David Starr and the Spears Motorsports team ready themselves for Round 23 of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Friday, November 4th at Texas Motor Speedway.

"While I love all the tracks we run on," says Starr, "Texas is definitely my favorite. It is a great place to race and it is my home track. In fact, it is the track that I am most familiar with on the entire circuit and the one I have logged the most laps on. When I have any spare tine, I work with my Uncle Mike as an instructor at Team Texas High Performance School of Driving, which is based at the track. I am hoping that my knowledge along with the power and strength of our Spears Chevy Silverado will take us right to Winners Circle this time out."

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is one of the most popular events at Texas Motor Speedway. "You can't believe how popular pickup trucks are here," explains Starr. "They are literally everywhere. And, there are a ton of Chevrolets. The fans are definitely into this race and it certainly tends to give you an even greater rush when you hear them all cheering."

While the Number One spot has eluded Starr in the past, he has landed on the Podium three times. This time out, a top five finish would make him the 12th Craftsman Truck Series driver to hit the two million-dollar mark in winnings.

"As if I needed another incentive to do well," laughs Starr. "We always want the victory, but winning here would be incredible. All my friends and family will be on hand, it is a Silverado sponsored event and I would add my name to the history book as a two million-dollar winner. What could be sweeter?"

Dedicated, determined and highly motivated, Starr definitely looks at every event as a new challenge to win. "We have all the necessary elements," he continues. "The Spears crew is incredible, our Chevy Silverado is really strong and our Hutter engines boast great horsepower. But racing is racing and just like last weekend at Atlanta, when we lost two spots due to a huge crash on the final lap, you never know what the outcome will be. Hopefully this time out, our home court advantage will win out and it will be the Spears Chevy Silverado that is triumphant at the end."

Qualifying for the Silverado 350K takes place on Thursday, November 3 at 8PM (ET) with race action getting underway on Friday, November 4 at 9PM (ET). Check out live qualifying on TruckSeries.com and if you can't be there in person, watch the race action live on SPEED TV.
