YOU SUFFERED EARLY PROBLEMS TODAY. WHAT HAPPENED? "We broke a rear-end gear. We had an oil line come off the truck. The oil line broke and spit all of the rear-end grease out and burned up the rear end. It didn't take long. It's just a tough day for the Power Stroke Diesel by International Ford. We turned this race into a practice session for mile-and-a-half tracks knowing that we're coming back and that we have a bunch of mile-and-a-half tracks. We got the truck where we were running the same lap times as the leaders during the last stint, the last 35 to 40 laps. We were trying stuff, but it was obviously too little too late."

"That started out where we were about a 30th-place truck. We just guessed wrong on the setup. Cowboy (Kevin Starland) and I came up with some stuff this morning that didn't work. Then we came into the pits and had a little miscommunication. I didn't know the 62 was coming in and I pulled out, so that was a bad thing to happen. It was an awkward race. It seemed like things got so strung out. It was one of those marathon events. We actually got it pretty good at the end. If we had it like that from the beginning we would have been OK, it just took us the whole race to get it there. I think the cambered rear end threw us for a loop this week. We tested here without it, and now that we have it, it makes it a little tougher."

WHAT PUT YOU BEHIND THE WALL? "We broke a transmission and we were getting oil all over the tires. It was going to be a matter of time before the transmission locked up or spun me out, so we really didn't have a choice. We just have to look forward to Memphis. It's another truck and another day. That place is more my style of track even though we ran well here. We had transmission problems right from the start and we were driving through and passing trucks, getting up to 11th there before we broke. It's just one of those things."
JON WOOD-50-Roush Racing Ford F-150 (Finished 13th)
"We weren't really happy with that run tonight. We struggled with the handling all night and never got it quite right. We've definitely got to do some work before Memphis next week to see if we can bring a better truck there. That last run we started out really loose and ended up really tight. We made adjustments, but by then it was kind of late to get back to where we needed to be."

"Everybody worked hard and we got what we could out of it. We dodged two big deals (Terry Cook broke right in front of him; Kelly Sutton's spin) but the caution that really cost us (lap 74) was one we weren't even part of. We had just pitted under green like a lot of guys had. I don't know. The track tightened up a little on us but we kept working on it. After that, it was just finish the thing and get what we could. We were on a lap by ourselves most of the rest of the way. We had dodged two bullets but that third one got us."
