Chase On Texas:
Chase is coming off a very promising run last week at Dover. Despite a disappointing 29th place finish, the 20-year-old rookie was one of the fastest trucks during the first part of the race. However, he was caught up in another competitor blowing an engine and putting fluid down on the track 0x2022 sending his #8 DODGE machine hard into the Turn 1 wall and for all purposes ending his day.
"Texas is a fast, smooth track and it is one of the nicest facilities that we visit all year. I ran well here last year in the Busch race and it just seems to fit my style. My team has put together a very strong truck for this race and I look forward to a solid run this weekend in Texas."
#8 DODGE at Texas:
Chase will be racing "Hulk" this week at Texas. This is the truck that the team ran earlier this season at Atlanta. Chase and the team also tested the truck at the Texas Motor Speedway earlier this year and the truck responded very well. With everything being BIG in Texas, "Hulk" looks to stand tall as a dominant truck in the running of the O'Reilly 400.
Chase and his BHR2 team enter the Texas event without primary sponsorship. The team, operating without a full-time sponsor, has put together sponsorship for each race this season until this event. The team continues its search for that elusive sponsorship for the rest of the season as well as their efforts starting to be focused on next season already.
The team does welcome aboard the American Airlines Training and Conference Center as an associate partner for this event. Just 5 minutes from the Dallas-Forth Worth Airport, AAT&CC is an award winner among meeting destinations. In addition to its 299 guest rooms, the destination features over 75,000 square feet of meeting space and 75 meeting rooms.
Chase and his #8 BHR2 DODGE team tested at the Texas Motor Speedway a few weeks back. The test was extremely successful with Chase being the fastest of the DODGE teams in attendance.
"We had a very good test here a few weeks ago," said Chase. "The guys have prepared me a great truck for this race and we have actually set it in a corner specifically saving it for this race. I really have high expectations for this week as we seemed to have turned the corner a little last week at Dover and this could really be a break through week for me and this team."
Chase will be making an appearance at the track on Friday for an autograph session from 4:00 -- 5:00 p.m. outside the track.
Career at Texas:
Chase will be making his 2nd career NASCAR start at the Texas Motor Speedway. Last season while competing with Brewco Motorsports in the NASCAR Busch Series, Chase finished a strong 12th.
