The first of the four drivers at the event, Greg Biffle who drives the #50 Grainger Ford F-150, has virtually locked up the 2000 NASCAR Craftsman Truck championship, needing only to take the green flag at the last two races to win. However, If Greg finished 27th or better next week in Texas, the championship race is mathematically over and Greg will be the champion. Greg drives for Roush Racing and will be moving up to the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series next season.
Kurt Busch, the 22-year-old rookie sensation driving the #99 Exide Batteries Ford F-150 will also be in attendance for the event. Kurt also drives for Roush Racing, and is the rookie "Killer B's" teammate of Biffle. Kurt has three wins this season and currently sits third in points, only 36 from second. He is also dominating the rookie-of-the-year points championship and is stretching his lead every race. Watch for Kurt to be gunning for the second spot to give Jack Roush a 1-2 finish in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this year. Kurt made his Winston Cup debut in the #97 John Deere Ford Taurus last week at Dover, qualifying tenth and finishing eighteenth. Kurt will be driving full-time next season in Winston Cup competing for the rookie of the year title.
