Coming Off His First Win, Timothy Peters Hopes to Keep the Momentum Going at Talladega
* Peters Earns First Career Victory...Danville, Virginia native Timothy Peters found his way to Victory Lane at his home track, Martinsville Speedway. The emotional win came on his 64th start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Peters led for 84 laps before taking the checkered flag in front of his hometown friends and family. The win moved Peters up two spots in series driver point standings. He now sits seventh, just 47 points outside of the fourth position. Peters and his #17 team are determined to earn top-five finishes in each of the remaining four events to secure a top-five position in the driver point standings.
* Peters At Talladega...The Mountain Dew 250 will mark Timothy Peters' first Camping World Truck Series start at Talladega Superspeedway. Peters ran an ARCA race at the Alabama 2.66 mile oval in 2006. He started 12th and finished 17th. Peters is no rookie to the mentally grueling challenges of restrictor plate racing. In two races at Daytona International Speedway, Peters earned a 12th place finish in 2006 and a 6th place finish at the 2009 season opener
* Plenty Of Firsts For Peters in 2009...It seems Peters and his #17 Strutmasters.com team are on fire this year. Since joining Red Horse Racing in June, Peters has earned nine top-10 finishes in 13 races. History has also been made this season. Peters earned his first career top-five finish at Kentucky Speedway, his first career pole at Nashville Superspeedway and his first career win last weekend at Martinsville Speedway.
* Meeting The Fans...Timothy Peters will be making a stop at Race Fever benefiting the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. He will be at the event, held at the Speed Channel Dome, at 5:30p.m. on Friday evening to sign autographs for students of the institute as well as fans at Talladega Superspeedway.
Timothy Peters on racing at Talladega Superspeedway "I ran an ARCA race at Talladega in 2006 so that gives me confidence heading into this race. Talladega is one of those places where you never really know what to expect because anything can happen. We are coming off a win in Martinsville and there is no greater high to be on headed into this race. We plan to keep the momentum going and get this #17 Tundra back in Victory Lane. No matter what, we have had a heck of a year!"
Crew Chief Chad Kendrick on Talladega Superspeedway "I am so proud of these guys after last weekend. We knew a win was going to come eventually but to get it at our home track was so special. We don't stop there though. We are heading into these last four events trying just as hard as we did at Martinsville. Our goal is to get Timothy in the top-five in points by the end of the season."
Equipment Information Timothy Peters will compete with chassis # 140 in the Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway. This is a brand new truck.
