Timothy Peters Going For Five In A Row At Gateway
* Peters at Gateway...The Copart 200 will mark Timothy Peters' third start at Gateway International Raceway. In two previous starts, Peters finished 16th in 2005 and 32nd in 2006. The 1.25-mile oval located in shadows of the St. Louis Arch should be no problem for Peters to master. On tracks of similar size, he has earned seven top-20 finishes this season, including four top-10 finishes.
* Five In A Row...Peters and his #17 Strutmasters.com team have been turning heads since joining Red Horse Racing. They are going for their fifth top-10 finish in a row this weekend at Gateway International Raceway. The streak started in Nashville with a fourth place finish. Peters brought home a 10th place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway, a ninth place finish at Chicagoland Speedway and an eighth place finish at Iowa Speedway last weekend. Peters has earned each of these top-10's behind the wheel of a different chassis proving he can race just about anything with success.
* Travis McFarland Grew Up Racing...Travis McFarland got behind the wheel of a go-kart at age six and was instantly hooked. Racing go-karts competitively at 15, Travis put his driving career on hold to work on cousin Mark McFarland's Late Models. McFarland made the transition into NASCAR with his first job at JR Motorsports in 2004. He spent several years there honing his skills and helping with his cousin's Nationwide Series effort. McFarland came to Red Horse Racing in April of 2009 to serve as a spotter for Johnny Benson. It wasn't long before RHR saw his potential and gave McFarland a full time job. He serves as parts manager and mechanic for the #17 in the shop and tire specialist at the track.
Timothy Peters on racing at Gateway International Raceway "I really love racing at Gateway. I've ran there twice before. It's that perfect combination between a short track and big track experience. You get the best of both worlds. Hopefully we can keep this string of top-10's going. I'd like to be up front fighting for a win in the closing laps."
Crew Chief Chad Kendrick on Gateway International Raceway "After our weekend in Iowa I am feeling pretty good about Gateway. Timothy liked our package in Iowa so Gateway should also be a good track for us. We are taking another new truck this weekend. We have raced four different trucks the last four weeks and this will be our fifth different truck in five races. We need to keep the momentum going and finish in the top-10 every week because this team is more than capable of doing that every race."
Equipment Information Timothy Peters will compete with chassis # 123 in the Copart 200 at Gateway International Raceway. This is the same chassis Johnny Benson raced at California Speedway where he started second and finished 12th
