TIMOTHY PETERS READY TO REBOUND AT GATEWAY

Notes and Quotes

* Timothy Peters will be making his second Gateway start this weekend. In 2005 he started 18th and finished in the 16th position in only his second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start.

* Peters will be driving the BHR chassis "Rocket" this weekend at Gateway. It will be "Rocket's" 12th NCTS start. The chassis ran at Charlotte, Kentucky, Memphis, IRP, Nashville, Bristol, Richmond, Las Vegas, Martinsville and Atlanta in 2005 with Peters behind the wheel.

* The Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Ram Tough 200 at Gateway will mark Peters' 21st NCTS career start.

Will your performance last year at Gateway provide you with some confidence: "In last year's race I was focused on just staying out of trouble, getting the points we needed. Now this year I have sort of dug myself a hole at Martinsville so we need to go to Gateway and have a good run. Based on the way we ran last year I am pretty confident and I think we will be even better. We just got back from a test at Pocono that I think will help us even more at Gateway so I am ready to go. We were just a tick away from having a great run there last year but a mistake on pit road cost us a top 10 finish. This year we have a real strong team and everyone is behind me so I just look forward to coming out of there with all the fenders on it and a top 10 finish."

Take us on a lap around Gateway: "Gateway has real long straight-a-ways. Going into turn one you kind of drive down the hill with a real sharp turn, you get back on the throttle and come up the hill off of turn two down another real long straight-a-way. Turns three and four are just one real long sweeping turn. If you can get through turns three and four as good as you got through one and two then you know you have a good piece. You have to have a good balance between the two different ends of the racetrack at Gateway that is really key. With the transmission rule now you cannot shift there where they have shifted there in the past because turn two is so tight. Now you really have to make your time up through three and four. If we can get through turns one and two and can stand to be a little free through turns three and four we will have a good run"

Testing at Pocono-How much will it help you at Gateway? "We tried a bunch of avenues to try and make these trucks as competitive as we can and to try and keep up with what we think everybody else is on to. The test went really good, a lot of things we tried went well we just need to fine tune it a little bit. I think we are going to unload at Gateway with a truck to be reckoned with. The last corner at Pocono is very similar to the last corner at Gateway. The test really helped me in that regard, it gave me a very similar feel and helped us prepare for Gateway. I really liked the way the truck drove at the test."
