Nascar Craftsman Truck Series Returns To Lehigh Valleys' Nazareth Speedway August 25-26

Nazareth, Pa. - August 8, 2001 -- The tough trucks of the popular NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series roar into the Lehigh Valley Aug. 25-26 for the running of the "Chevy Silverado 200" at Nazareth Speedway, Nazareth, Pa.

The action starts on Saturday, Aug. 25 with practice and qualifying. Practice for the Craftsman Trucks begins at 12:00 Noon, with qualifying at 3:00 P.M. On Sunday, Aug. 26, all the action of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series' "Chevy Silverado 200" goes green at 1:00 P.M.

Two-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion, and Nazareth Speedway race winner, Jack Sprague is back in championship form and expects to contend for the "Chevy Silverado 200" victory.

"Nazareth is a unique and challenging track," said Sprague, the current series point leader. "It's a track that I always enjoy racing at.

"The past couple of races at Nazareth we were not in contention for the win. This year will be different. The NetZero Chevy team is back in championship form and ready to challenge for another victory. We will be shooting for win number three at Nazareth."

Sprague, driving Rick Hendrick's No. 24 NetZero Chevy Silverado, has recorded two victories at Nazareth Speedway and currently sits atop the series point standings, 17 markers ahead of veteran Joe Ruttman.

The NASCAR Busch North Series joins the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Nazareth Speedway. The Busch North Series will also practice and qualify on Sat., Aug 25. The NASCAR Busch North Series' "Nazareth 100" will follow the "Chevy Silverado 200" on Sunday, Aug. 26.

Event tickets are available for the NASCAR Doubleheader weekend at Nazareth Speedway by calling 1-888-629-RACE (7223). Saturday general admission tickets are only $10.00. Sunday adult tickets start at $20.00, with tickets for children beginning at $15.00. Plus, parking is always FREE at Nazareth Speedway.
