Scott Lynch To Run The Phoenix and Homestead NASCAR Craftsman Truck Events
NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series 2003 Champion Scott Lynch will pilot the No. 59 HT Motorsports Dodge at the upcoming NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events at Phoenix International Raceway and Homestead-Miami Speedway.
"I am really pleased to be able to run in this two prestigious events," said Lynch, who will be making his fourth and fifth appearance in the Craftsman Truck Series. "I ran last year at Miami and finished 12th. While I have never run a truck at Phoenix, I have taken two wins, set a new track record and earned a Pole there in the West Series. I certainly appreciate Jim Harris (team owner) and Dodge giving me this opportunity and I am looking forward to bringing home a good finish for them.
"Scott Lynch is definitely an up and coming young talent," says Scott Richter, Dodge Truck Program Manger. We are happy to be able to provide him with some seat time in the Truck Series and feel that he will do an excellent job for us.
In addition to running at Miami, Lynch has also competed in the No. 61 Orleans Dodge at Las Vegas Motor Speedway twice, finishing 12th and 29th.
Entering into the NASCAR arena on a full time basis in 2003, Lynch showed his behind the wheel skill winning both the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series Rookie of the Year title and the Championship. In addition to earning the distinction of being the second driver in NASCAR West Series history to win the Championship in his rookie year, Lynch also gave Dodge their first overall victory in the Series since 1976 when Ray Elder took the title.
"Phoenix is one of my favorite tracks," says the Burley, Idaho native. "It suits my style of driving. And it is going to be a real pleasure to drive a truck prepped by Bobby Hamilton Racing. Their reputation is outstanding and they certainly are well versed in what it takes to put a top running truck on the track. In short, I am definitely looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the No. 59 HT Motorsports Dodge.
Qualifying for the Chevy Silverado 150 presented by Valley Chevy Dealers takes place on Friday, November 5 at 2:10 PM (PT) and racing gets underway at Phoenix International Raceway at 3:30 PM (PT) on Friday, November 6.
