Hansen has four wins at Phoenix International Raceway is NASCAR's ASA racing series. in 1993, 1995, 1996 and 1997.

"Knowing Phoenix International Raceway as well as I do is a big positive for our team," Hansen said. "On the other hand, drivers like Hornaday, Sprague and Bliss also have experience at Phoenix. They have experience in a truck at this track, so they may have an edge on me. I think that if we just stay as consistent as we were last week, we should have no problem with another top-10 finish.

Heading into the second race of the 1999 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, Scott Hansen sits seventh in overall points.

"I was very pleased with our finish in Homestead," said Hansen. "As a team, the Oakwood Homes crew learned a lot about the aerodynamics of the truck as compared to a car. We have already made changes to the body of the truck that should help us in Phoenix."

Hansen will also enter the race at Phoenix International Raceway second in points in the USG SHEETROCK=AE Brand Rookie of the Year competition. Hansen is no stranger to being rookie of the year. He earned this title in the ASA and Remax series' early in his racing career.

"As far as concentrating on my rookie status, I just want to let people, including fans and drivers, know that we are here," said Hansen. "There is a lot of tough competition for rookie of the year in this series. None of the rookies this year are strangers to racing and competition. I want to put all of my focus on getting acclimated to the truck and this series. This is totally different than anything I have ever done."
