No. 52 Oakwood Homes Chevrolet Gateway Notes & Quotes

Hansen At Gateway: Scott Hansen, driver of the No. 52 Oakwood Homes Chevrolet, has one start at Gateway International Raceway. Hansen made his first career NASCAR Busch Series start there last year in which he qualified 41st and finished 15th.

"Gateway is the type of track where a driver has to be very patient about the handling of the truck," Hansen said. "The truck will never handle perfectly in both corners, so you have to pick one corner to feel comfortable with and be forgiving with the other corner."

Double Driving Duty: Hansen will have a hectic schedule Friday night at Gateway. In addition to driving the Oakwood Homes truck, Hansen will start the RE/MAX Challenge Series race earlier in the evening. Hansen should be a favorite to win the late-model event, as he already has two wins in the series this year defeating team owner Ken Schrader and Winston Cup regulars Sterling Marlin, Dick Trickle, Kenny Wallace and Michael Waltrip.

Schrader Racing Homecoming: Team owner Ken Schrader hails from Fenton, Mo., and considers Gateway International Raceway his hometown track.

"My career started in St. Louis and I have very strong ties to the community," said Schrader. "My mom still lives there and we promote I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Mo. Even though I will not be behind the wheel this weekend, I know all of my hometown fans will be rooting for Scott Hansen and the Schrader Racing team."

The Oakwood Homes Racing team is taking the same truck to St. Louis that finished 10th earlier this year at Bristol and qualified seventh at Milwaukee.

"Gateway is a tough and unique track," said crew chief Wally Brown. "The two corners are noticeably different. It is next to impossible to get the truck to handle perfectly in both corners, so the Oakwood Homes Racing team will work on the gear ratio set-up to get the best compromise between the two."
