Woolrich Extends Sponsorship of Roush Racing's No. 99 NASCAR Craftsman Truck
FONTANA, CA.- Woolrich, The Original Outdoor Clothing Company, announced today that they have extended their primary sponsorship of the No. 99 Roush Racing Ford F-150 and driver Erik Darnell for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on February 24 at California Speedway. The decision to continue their relationship with Roush Racing and Erik Darnell was made following a strong sixth-place finish at the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway.
"Roush Racing and Erik Darnell delivered on their promises last week, and in light of the fan response, we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity presented by Friday night's race in Southern California to build on the success in Daytona." said Tim Joseph, Woolrich's Director of Marketing and Media.
The Woolrich team was able to overcome a 15th-place qualifying effort and overheating problems at Daytona to bring home the first top-10 finish for driver Darnell in just his second Craftsman Truck Series start.
"We had a great run at Daytona, and I'm hoping we can build on it," said Darnell. "We're going to carry some good momentum to Fontana. Both Roush trucks ran really well out there last year, so we're looking for another strong finish. I'm happy that we're representing Woolrich again, and I want to thank all the loyal NASCAR fans out there that communicated their appreciation to the company via website visits, e-mails and telephone calls. I hear it made quite an impact and as a rookie I need all the support I can get."
