Rick Crawford Texas II race report

Fort Worth, TX- Rick Crawford and the #14 Milwaukee Electric Tool Ford rustled up a second place finish in the Chevy Silverado 350 at Texas Motor Speedway. Crawford started the race in sixth place after Thursday afternoon's qualifying effort. Crawford and the #14 Ford dominated its class and once again finished as the top Ford.

Once the race started, Crawford wasted no time charging towards the front of the pack. Crawford piloted the #14 Ford into third place by the end of the second lap. "Crew chief Ray Stonkus and the Milwaukee Heavy Duty Crew did a great job preparing the race truck. The #14 Ford was fast from the time we unloaded it from the hauler, to the time we finished the race," stated driver Rick Crawford.

Caution flags flew often during the first half of the race. On lap 44 when the caution came out for the third time, Crawford brought the #14 Ford into the pits for right side tires and two cans of gas. The Milwaukee Heavy Duty Pit Crew went to work on the truck and sent Crawford back out on to the track in second place, gaining one position. The #14 Ford kept pressure on the leaders all night long. Eventually, that pressure paid off. With the laps winding down, the two lead trucks headed to the pits with tire problems. "We were chasing the leaders all night long. We kept the pressure on them and they just wore out their right front tires. Second place is a strong finish for our sponsors Milwaukee Electric Tool, Lennox and Mobil 1. Greg Jacobs with Ernie Elliott Incorporated has once again given the team strong horsepower under the hood that we need to run up front," stated Crawford.

Since Ernie Elliott Incorporated has provided the engines for the #14 Ford, the team has finished outside of the top six only one time in the last seven races.

Crawford and the #14 Milwaukee Electric Tool Ford will take the green flag in the Orleans 350 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Sunday October 14th, at 12:00 p.m. EST. The event will be telecast live on ESPN broadcast live on MRN Radio.
