Richmond, VA- Rick Crawford and the #14 Milwaukee Electric Tool Ford head to the Richmond International Raceway for the Kroger 200. Richmond is a charter member of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The Thursday night race is the first of a NASCAR triple-header at RIR involving the NCTS, Busch and Winston Cup Series.
The #14 Milwaukee Electric Tool Ford race team will be bringing a truck that has been rebuilt from the ground up. After the Memphis race this year, the truck went back to the shop, was cut up and rebuilt to the specifications of a truck that has consistently run well this season. "I'm excited about the truck we are racing at Richmond. The truck has been Stonkusized. After the race at Memphis, crew chief Ray Stonkus, had the truck cut up with a Milwaukee Sawzall and rebuilt it. I expect it to be a contender," stated driver Rick Crawford
Richmond is a D shaped, ¾ of a mile oval racetrack. The track is fast for it's size. The race is expected to have quit a bit of bumping and banging going on. Crawford's best finish at the track is a fourth, when he ran the All-Pro Series. "I have had some good runs at Richmond in the past. This year, with Ernie Elliot horsepower under the hood, we expect to give the fans an exciting race. I love racing at night. There seems to be added excitement in the air around the track, " commented Crawford.
Crawford and the #14 Milwaukee Electric Tool Ford have been on a roll since Ernie Elliott has been supplying the horsepower under the hood. The team has finished only once outside of the top five, with a sixth place finish at Indianapolis, since Ernie Elliott has come on board.
Crawford and the #14 Milwaukee Electric Tool Ford will take the green flag in the Kroger 200 at the Richmond International Raceway, Thursday September 6, at 8:00 p.m. EST. The event will be telecast live on ESPN and broadcast on MRN Radio.
