Rick Crawford Las Vegas race report

#14 Milwaukee Electric Tool Ford Once Again Finishes As The Top Ford

Las Vegas, NV- Rick Crawford and the #14 Milwaukee Electric Tool Ford had a strong fifth place finish in The Orleans 350 at the Las Vegas motor Speedway. For the sixth time in the last seven races, Crawford has finished in the top five and as the top Ford team. Crawford started the race sitting on the outside of the front row after Saturday afternoons qualifying effort.

The #14 Milwaukee Electric Tool Ford was the fastest Ford truck the entire race weekend. At the end of the open test session on Friday afternoon, Crawford had set the unofficial track record with a speed of 160.433 miles per hour.

When the green flag waved to start the race, Crawford had the nose of the #14 Ford on the rear bumper of the leader. Crawford kept the pressure on. On lap 20 he took the lead picking up five valuable bonus points toward the Craftsman point championship race.

Crawford's first pit stop came on lap 57 under green flag conditions. The #14 Ford came in to the pits and the Milwaukee Heavy Duty Crew went to work changing right side tires and topping off with fuel. A slight air pressure adjustment was also made to the tires to help correct a tight condition in the turns.

On lap 122, Crawford brought the crowd to their feet. He had the #14 Ford on the inside line and went three wide with Joe Ruttman in the middle and rookie Kyle Busch on the outside. Crawford held his line as the three trucks continued racing three wide for three exciting laps. After the third lap, going into turn two, Ruttman got loose and spun sideways. The caution flag came out for the fourth and final time.

When the green flag waved the dash to the finish was on. The #14 Ford got caught behind lap traffic and finished in fifth place. "Crew chief Ray Stonkus and the Milwaukee Heavy Duty Crew did a great job. They worked hard and gave me a fast truck to race. I appreciate the strong support that Milwaukee Electric Tool, Lennox and Mobil 1 has given the team. With their support and the horsepower that Ernie Elliott has provided, we are the dominant Ford team and one of the hottest teams running," stated driver Rick Crawford.

Crawford and the #14 Milwaukee Electric Tool Ford will take the green flag in the Chevy Silverado 150 at the Phoenix International Raceway, Friday October 26th, at 6:30 p.m. EST. The event will be telecast live on ESPN and broadcast live on MRN Radio.
