NASHVILLE, TN. (AUGUST 14, 2001) -- The #55 Powers Motorsports Dodge has moved into 19th place in driver points as a result of the 19th place finish at Nashville Speedway Friday night. "Some people have scoffed at the fact we feel we had a good run Friday night" driver Tom Powers said "the fact remains we are in 19th place in points and have had very little in corporate sponsorship help this year. The only difference between us and those finishing in the top ten every week is the budget to buy the better equipment and newer Dodge motors"
"So far this season the team has qualified for all but one race it was entered in, all without the help of corporate sponsorship. The key to finishing the rest of the season will be the ability to secure sponsorship." Tom Said "The Powers Motorsports Dodge team is negotiating with several potential sponsors for this year and 2002 but no commitments have been made at this time." said Richard Weber, Director of Team Marketing and Promotions, "We have even found it difficult setting up small promotions in each city we race in.You would think with the growth of motorsports, local dealers and businesses would be more excited about the value that we are offering through the Craftsman Truck Series"
The next race on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is August 18th at Chicago Motorspeedway in Cicero, IL. Any interested parties should contact Richard Weber at Racing Consultants.
